Have your address, callback number, and a brief description ready. Weather, location, roof condition, and current demand affect response timing. Confirm the appointment or dispatch directly; submitting a website form does not dispatch a crew.

2. Assess temporary protection

Where conditions allow, tarping or other temporary measures can help limit further exposure. Ask what area will be protected, the cost of that work, and whether a follow-up check is needed after more weather.

3. Identify the repair scope

Visible roof surfaces, flashing, penetrations, and affected materials help guide the investigation. A permanent repair needs to address the source of the water, not only the place where the ceiling is stained.

4. Compare repair and replacement

Isolated damage may be repairable. Widespread deterioration, repeated leaks, or extensive damage may justify a roof replacement assessment. Review the findings and written scope before approving the next phase.

Keep emergency work and restoration costs clear

Request a description and price for temporary work separately from the proposed permanent repair. The repair estimate should explain materials, removal, any decking or flashing work, and how concealed damage will be handled.
